dear ramsinghania
in may 2010, when AS 30 to 32 was newly introduced, it was given in an "official announcement" not only on the website but also SMS sent to everyone that only "basics" will be asked and no application based questions will be asked. However 14 marks of sums came in
again in nov 2010, same "official announcement" was given and this time almost 25 marks came from that topics
in may 2010 there was another "official announcement" that
1.sebi guidelines
2. winding up chapter in detail and
3. easy exit scheme (and company law settlement scheme)
will not be a part of the portion in law. all three concepts had questions in the paper.
I am in a hurry right now so have just these examples in my mind. A little more research will give many more. I dont write here out of fascination or sensationalism. Its a conclusion from facts.
I am not saying that ICAI will do the same again. But just want people to make their own judgements and not rely on announcements which have been proved wrong in the past.
Thanks

Hey... Inflation Accounting is excluded from the syllabus for May 2011 exams then why ICAI has incorporated question on this topic in RTP for May 2011???
Is the Institute going to make a mess for the already tensed students..??
