When reliance industry hires 2 Executive assistant from IIM Banglore for Rs 25 Lakhs p.a. it gives the impression that Top class MBA colleges are most preferred in top profile jobs. Not only IIMs but even other top insitutes are giving the students the starting package which is much much higher than that of CAs.. ICAI Campus placements not able to absorb even 10% of candidates..what worst even some CAs working working at Rs 15000 p.m. or say Rs 1.8 Lakhs p.a. when even insitutes like welinkar of mumbai which not even comes at top 20 given Rs 7 Lakhs of package. For 2013 batch the SP Jain has given Rs 16.1 Lakhs of Average salary when even CA topper not able to get Rs 15 lakhs also. People say now if could not able to CA in 1st attempt and articleship from Big 4 then it is totally waste of time to do CA. The reason is that CA course though involves articleship but limited to assurance,auditing n tax..no exposure in corporate finance,investment banking..no presentation skills no commnication skills..all u need to bring home lots of material and clear the exam..many people takes too many attempts to clear CA..if somebody joins company after completing B.com only he may get starting low salary but later gets very good package..remember work experience in company counts alot.company do not give articleship experience any weightage..
What to do then? i advise if you want to do CA give articleship due importance and do it from Big 4 or GT/BMR/BDO..or some top CA firms of Mumbai..if possible do industrial training also..clear all the stages of CA in 1st attempt..or else write CAT/XAT/FMS/SNAP after B.com and try to get into top 25 colleges at least..remember form last 4-5 years CA pass % reaches to the sky..more supply almost killed the demand of CA..even 1st attempt CAs struggling for Rs 6 Lakhs..this situation makes CA firm giving very salary to CAs..try in corporate only after CA as CA firms not good for long run if you not join big4..any query please ask..
