Here are some tips on how to set yourself straight and on target for success. These simple hints are talked about by many personal trainers and might seem easy things, but in fact, they take a lot of willpower and concentration to stick with.
Multi-tasking. It is ok if you are making dinner, looking after the kids, the dogs, the garbage and the dishes, but it is not good when you are building your business. Finish one project at a time then move to the next. It is very hard to focus properly on the task at hand when you are also thinking about the four other projects that are on the go. If you concentrate completely on the task in front of you, not only will it be your best work, you will finish it much faster and be able to move on with confidence.
Set a daily schedule to plan out your days, weeks, and months. Make sure you use a calendar of some sort. It can be online like Google Calendar (which is free), or something like a Day Runner (daily planner you write in) that you can keep with you all the time. You MUST block off the necessary time to accomplish the tasks you set for yourself each day so you do not become overwhelmed by what you need to do. You can wake up every morning knowing that you have a plan instead of being scared to put your feet on the ground for fear of the unknown.
"plug" yourself into teachings by simply subscribing to emails, blogs or newsletters. These are a great free source on information and guidance well beyond your initial set up of your business. Many of these Masters have written books you can either buy or get from your local library. Trust me, these are an invaluable resource for you.
Reduce the clutter around you. This goes for your email clutter as well as the "stuff" close to you that can distract you. The more unproductive emails that you waste your time and energy in manually deleting, the less focuses you are on what it is you need to do. This also goes for the physical "stuff" around you. If you are constantly thinking about it, do yourself a favor and get rid of it. Take the time to dispose of it, or find a "home" for it. Even if you spend an entire day dealing with this clutter, it will save you months in the end as you can clearly focus and be completely committed to the tasks you have set.
Having a clear understanding of your Goals is extremely important. If you are not sure why you have become involved, then how are you going to reach your goals? A why is not merely be to make money, as we all want to do that. Why do you want to make more money, a vacation, a new car, financial security, or retirement? The clearer you understand your why, the easier it will be to reach your goals.
Finally, you must understand the difference between Efficient and Effective.
Efficient means you are doing something very well.
Effective means that what you are doing is good for your Goals creating results.
