What is the time period within which as assessee should receive refund of income tax? If it is delayed what is the rate of interest and how is it calculated?most of the tax payers claim that they receive refund only after a year or more. Is it really so?Are they really paid interest?Can an assessee claim refund from assessing officer?What is its procedure?

Hellow my dear friend u r asking about refund ... so , in reallity there is no time for refund and the most worst thing is dat u can get ur refund as and when u want to get it what u hav to do juz approach income tax officer ask him abt ur refund he will tell u sorry ur refund is not processed by deptt. and give him 10% approx. amount of ur refund he will directly clear ur refund on the spot .........................
assessee will absolutely get interest on refunds starting from the end of ass yr and upto d date of clearence....(rate approx. 9-10%)

YES THERE ARE TIME LIMIT FOR YOUR REFUND IN INCOME TAX DEPARTMENT. SUPPOSE U AR REFUND FOR 2006-07. FOR THIS YEAR THE INCOME TAX OFFICER SHOULD ASSESSED THE INCOME. UPTO 31ST MARCH 2008 . IF AS PER ASSMENT A REFUND VOUCHER IS GENERATED THEN. THE INCOME TAX DEPARTMENT SHOULD BE SENT WITH IN 90 DAYS OF ASSESSMENT DATE. SO IF THE REFUND VOUCHER COULD NOT RECIVED BY U TILL 30TH JUNE 2008. YOU COMPLAINT TO THE CONCERNED COMM. OF INCOME TAX ( GRIEVENCE) ADDRESSING WITH YOUR MATTER IN DETAIL. I THINK UAR MATTER SHORTLISED VERY SOON. BECAUSE HIGHER OFFICER TAKE THE MATTER SERIOUSLY.
AND ALSO IF YOU FEEL THAT ANY PROBLEM REGARDING YOUR REFUND VOUCHER.U MAY TO DIRECT INFORM TO COMMISSIONER OF INCOME TAX ( GRIEVENCE) . |
