In Hrishikesh Mukherjee's 'Chupke Chupke' (1975) Amitabh, Jaya Bhaduri, Dharmendra and Sharmila Tagore do the 'Double Trouble' act. One of Amitabh's first attempts at comedy, 'Chupke Chupke' is still a hot favourite of Bachchan fans. Amitabh plays Sukumar Sinha/ Parimal Tripathi in the movie.
'Anand' (1971) saw Amitabh Bachchan, "the lanky youngster with the sunken eyes", share the screen with the then super star Rajesh Khanna. Amitabh played Bhaskar Banarjee (Babu Moshai), who is doctor to Rajesh Khanna's terminally ill protagonist. The movie gave Amitabh his first Filmfare statuette (for the Best Supporting Actor).
