The “real” reason behind ICAI forcing its draconian law upon students
- Why this stupid rule about transfer not within one city.
I was just thinking about this on Sunday evening; when this thing somewhat hit my head. There is no denying the fact that ICAI changes its curriculum and its training programs like a snake(with due respect,hah to icai) discards its old skin. But in ICAI, it is always ill-planned and is not far-sighted about the repercussions.
In order to encourage the youth talent to join this field, CPT was introduced and new system of 3.5 years of articleship along with PCC was introduced. But icai’s mistiming made it sure that most of the pass-outs didn’t get artileship as per the liking. CAs vacancy for keeping students were increased to max 10; but cheap labour doesn’t mean that CAs will even spend 1000 rs extra for students when they will have no work for thm . Rather they might use that vacancy to give dummy to please their clients, friends, relatives.
Introduction of IPCC has made it hard that CAs will get their dose of cheap labour ie Students directly after CPT. No rocket science is needed to be mastered that the total no. of students coming through IPCC will be much lower than through CPT. Now CAs were in a fix ; that’s why our well-wisher icai made this rule to restrict transfer in one city so that present articles wont have a choice rather to stick with his CA like heroines in old movies who even were abused by hubby considered them pati-parmeshwar. So, the work of CAs wont be at least be disturbed till the flow of articles wont be regularized after first ipcc exams. And we are bearing the price of this icai’s miscalculation of announcing ipcc.
- Why ICAI has targeted bcom mcom colleges by fixing timing of articleship between 1030am and 530 pm.
All of us know that icai has been making a lot of MOUs with universities to give degrees to students who pursue this new degree. Except for a few of this deal, others flopped miserably. You will be even shocked to know THAT ICAI MADE ITS SECOND COLLABORATION WITH NETAJI SUBHASH CHANDRA BOSE OPEN UNIVERSITY(nsou) after ignou; NSOU HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED BY CENTRAL GOVERNMENT dept. UGC THAT IT IS ONE OF THE 29 LATEST ANNOUNCED UNRECOGNISED UNIVERSITIES OF INDIA(times of India:last 2 weeks or see ugc’s website). Wow, icai, you really care for
And also; as even ignou wale students were not that much; the so called prestige of icai is at stake. By making such inflexible timings; students are being gradually compelled to join such open schools who have been associated with icai. Heaven knows whether money is involved or not.
3. Why ICAI has targeted coaching classes by restricting morning classes before 930?
Coaching classes being run by icai branches have been beaten fair and square by pvt coaching centres. Some year back, private coaching could also run ITT. Given the huge no of CA students in ca PCC; this gave significant revenue to such classes as well. And then ICAI announced only ITT can be carried out by labs in icai branches.
This may be a case of vendetta against pvt. Coaching classes as they are more student-caring and more ranker-producing than icai coaching centres.
We have to have a nation wide protest as well as online protests so as to empower ourselves that they scrap the rule.
Why this rule disturbs CAs as well?
Suppose a CA has 3 articles:2 cpt pass and doing PCC; one pe2 pass and doing final. Suppose final wala finishes his articleship; then he would need another final student to fill the void of that. For that; will he have to import another PCC pass from another city; or he should be lucky to find a pe2 just pass.
