The Importance of UAN and PPO Numbers for Salaried Employees and Pensioners in India

UAN stands for Universal Account Number, which is a unique 12-digit number assigned to every salaried employee in India who contributes to the Employee Provident Fund (EPF). It helps the employee to track their EPF account and also helps in easy transfer of EPF account when they change their jobs.

On the other hand, PPO stands for Pension Payment Order, which is a unique 12-digit number assigned to every pensioner in India. It helps in the identification and disbursement of pension payments to the pensioner.

DigiLocker is a digital platform provided by the Government of India that allows citizens to store and access their digital documents. To access your UAN card on DigiLocker, you can follow the below steps:

  • Visit the DigiLocker website and click on the "Sign In" option.
  • Enter your Aadhaar number and username.
  • Enter the digit security pin and click on the "Submit" button.
  • On the next page, click on the "Get more issued documents" option.
  • Click on "Employees Provident Fund Organization".
  • Click on UAN and enter your UAN number. Then click on "Get Document".
  • You can now download your UAN card.

To generate your User ID on DigiLocker's website, you can follow the below steps:

  • Visit the DigiLocker website and click on the "Sign Up" option.
  • Enter your Aadhaar number and registered mobile number.
  • Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number and click on the "Verify OTP" button.
  • Set a username and password for your DigiLocker account.
  • Your User ID will be generated, and you can use it to access your digital documents on DigiLocker.
