Pls read this with patience.

This monday, 18th may 2009, i went to get refund of my dad in ward no. 16(2) in CR building, Delhi for Ay 2007-08 and 08-09.

The aggregate amount of refund was Rs 4.5 lakh.

when i asked the inspector to process the same, he demanded Rs. 25000/- for the same as bribe. In shock i went to AO and intimated him about all this and he said " Maang raha hai to de do".

My family is currently in bit of financial crises and i was left without and choice but to pay him the bribe.

The point of sharing all this is that in future none of us face the same problem.

I alone wasnt able to handle the situation, but I beleive once we TEAM - UP, nothing can prevent me or any of us to take refund without any hassle.

I need you corporation.

If you saw the name of the AO/inspector (if he had a name plate, you should publish them). Maybe going to higher authorities maynot help but publicising will. You should file a complaint against them. Write to the local newspapers/blog about it/ whatever you can.)

Irrespective of whether we are rich or in a financial crisis, I dont mind paying lakhs in a legal suit to get it my way but I won't pay a dime to a criminal. That's said and done.

Definatly you can file complaint after all Rs 25000 is not the least amount but money does not matter when it comes to moral.

in God s court they will be punished very harshly......one of the best ways is to report nto STAR NEWS and make a video of that....

Definitely u should lodge a compliant against the person asking for bribe and try to get refund of Rs.25000/- after all this is not a small amount

there r black sheep and unfortunately they r aplenty.what to do ? we can only expect more harassment if we do not co mply

i wldnt tell ou all that what we should do to remove such things to be happen in future as not only in delhi i have saw this a no of ti,es while undergoing my articleship....

IT deptt is also aware of this fact.....so they have are going to frame a structure of claiomimg online refund....for this purpose they have already issued a suceessful tender to some IT company(most probably its TCS) to develop a system so that a person can claim his amount of refund online .....

we are expecting this system to be launched within a couple of years......and we are sure that this will definitely reduce the brie system in IT deptt upto a graeter extent.....
