I want to know whether purchase of goods in every month on contract basis is liable to TDS or not u/s 194C?

If it is purely purchase of goods. Tds is not applicable

whether purchase of goods for trading is exempted from deduction of tax at source?

mere purchasing of goods on contract basis does not fall under the purview of the definition of 'WORK' as covered u/s 194C. so the question to deduct TDS does not arise in such transaction.
