It is not mandatory to file a nil return, but to be on the safer side you should file a nil return.

Dear Raghav, According to my knowledge level in practical, every TAN holder should file the return even if there is no data as NIL return. Otherwise a notice will be served from Income Tax Department for Non filing of etds returns. How do they know that you have no transactions or you are in negligence of filing tds returns.

It is mandatory to file TDS Quarterly return by Companies and Firms even in case where no TDS has been deducted during that Quarter.

dear friends,
do you have any kind of proof to show that TDS Return is required to be filed by all...... (even if no TDS Deducted in that period).......
in my view no requirement of submitting return and waste money (Rs. 30.00 or so).......
Suggestions are welcomed......
