what is the basic conditions to file the e-return in the tds?

i know that company has to file return in the electronic form but what about firm which is under section 44AB? I also know when the deductee is more than 50 the one has to file the tds return in electronic form? but i don't know abt. the others?

I have deducted TDS on contractor & paid to the govt in Dec-07. Later on contractor not agree to deduct tds & hence we have paid to the party whole amt including TDS in Dec-07. Now my question is can I rectify the TDS payment for Dec-07 in the month of Jan-08? Pl repy

First of all,TDS is not applicable on the choice of deductee.So if as per IT Act TDS is applicable,then you hav to deduct & deposit the same to govt A/c. Secondaly when u hav deducted the TDS in Dec-07 u would hav shown this in ur 3rd Qtr TDS return.Now u can not adjust the same in Jan-08.

no you can not change the payment details while you have already paid the tds to the govt. by deducting from payment in the month of dec.07 hence you have to show that in the return for the 3rd quarter.
