whether tan no of other state can be used here for filling TDs return?

TAN is unique number which is not dependent on State wise; it depends on which location you have registered under TAN.

Correct.Tan no obtained in the location where you get registered.You can file returns using your registered Tan no even it belongs to another state.

yes, you can deduct and pay tds in mumbai. but return will be filed on registered address only and payment that is made in mumbai has to be paid by registered office.... for example, tan is registered in surat and payment is made in mumbai. then payment should be made from office in surat or on behalf of office in surat and paid to person in mumbai.

Dear Vaishali

TAN number is not unique based number. Sometimes MNC or Big Ltd company there have more than one or two location establised in various states and they have send TDS certificate as their payment location through the bill and give you TDS certificate on based of that state location.

e.g. Like in same company may be TAN number started MUM....... or BlR..... etc. So you have to check the TDS certificate. But PAN is unique key number and will be only one for same company.
