Is it compulsory to file a NIL return of the assessee of T.D.S. if he is covered under the audit u/s44AB. ?

Dear Bhavik,
TDS Return is mandatory to file even if there are no transanctions..
This is something which should be done as measure of good compliance.
Further, attimes it is mandated by practical life like annual return can only be filed when assessee has filed the return of all 4 quarters(even if there are no transanctions)

As per my point of view it is not compulsary for filling NIL return for TDS.

As such there are no official compulsions on filing such returns....
But, considering amir's explaination, ofcoarse they impose an indirect compulstion......

There is no link exist between audit u/s 44AB & TDS Return. Further in my opinion as long as you have TAN ,you have to file TDS return whether you have deducted nil TDS.
