I pay a monthly rent of 50,000. The TDS amount at 10% is 5000 pm. I have deducted that amount and payed rent at 45000 pm for December 2012, January, February and March 2013. But I havent made the TDS payment yet. Can someone please tell me the interest amount I need to pay along with a total TDS amount of 20,000 as on September 2013.

Interest should be levied from the date of deduction to the date of payment @ 1.5% per month or part of the month
So please mention the date of deduction in your query

Penalty on late filing of TDS returns will also apply.
