I m in to Interior Industry on which amount i have to deduct TDS (i.e. Basic amt + vat+Service tax) or only on basic amt + service tax.

In case of TDS on rent u/s 194I the amount should exclude Service tax but in other cases its on toal bill amount including vat and service tax. Although here is the problem of double taxation but it has to be deducted on total amount.

Except in case of Rent u/s 194(I) TDS would be deducted on total amount (including service tax and VAT).

I think VAT is to be excluded for TDS. Since VAT is collected on transfer of the goods, not for the job work or service done and it is collected and paid to the Govt not retained by the assessee.

if we deduct tds on full amount then its double taxation problem... but in normal practice we deduct tds on full amount..in case of rent 194(I) its clear. but in all other case it's not clear.so tds will be deducted on full amount

u have to deduct the TDS on the full amount of Basic +service charges and vat amount
