is it mandatory to deduct TDS every month. I have not deducted TDS in April on salaries for my employees. I am planning to deduct it starting May for all taxable salaries to be earned till march.
Does this attract any penal provision.

Considering the provisions of section 192(3) which is reproduced below, you may deduct in May:
Excerpts from 192(3): (3) The person responsible for making the payment referred to in sub-section (1) or sub-section (1A) or sub-section (2) or sub-section (2A) or sub-section (2B) may, at the time of making any deduction, increase or reduce the amount to be deducted under this section for the purpose of adjusting any excess or deficiency arising out of any previous deduction or failure to deduct during the financial year.

Not mandatory to deduct tds on salary in every month....... u can deduct tds in march month too.......... while u have to file salary return only once in a year....... & that is 24 q ......after completing the f.y. ............. ..........
