TDS for consultants

Hi All,

One of my relative was working with a renowned consulting company as a consultant during the last 1 year. This was her first job and her monthly salary was 24,400/-. The company used to deduct the TDS at 10% and thus during the last financial year ,they deducted around 29000 as TDS. She didnt give any investment proof or reimbursable bills till now. And now she changed her job adn working as an executive with a corporate. How can she claim back the amount deducted as TDS during last finacial year?

Please advise.

Thanks,

Anup

If she is a women n nt senior citizen and her income doesnt exceed rs190,000 thn she needs to fle ITR n claim refund of tds.

If her income is exceeding the basic slab then tax has to be calculated accordingly on total income.
