06 April 2009i have missed last date i.e. 31-Mar-09, for TDS deposit due to some reason. In this case what pentalty / Intresest , which has to be paid by us in current financial year. Please tell me.
Vifercation is as follows;
Income tax=2072
Surcharge=209
E_Cess=68
Interest/Penalty= ?
Total = ?

if tds has been credited on the last date of the accounting year then within 2 mnths tax shud be deposited
otherwise within one week from the last date of the mnth in which ded is made
so u can make payment till 7th of april or 31st of may as the case may be.
INTEREST :As per section 201 of IT act , interest @ 1% per mnth or part thereof from the date on which such tds was deductible to the date on which the tax is actually paid.
Penalty : As per section 271C , amnt of tax failed to be deducted or paid will be the amount of penalty
