Tds correction returns query

Sir I am filing correction returns for Q3 FY 2012-13.

There is one entry in deductee sheet where interest was not shown in interest allocated column, full amount was shown as TDS, now I am correcting that in deductee sheet, Date of deduction was 7-9-2012 in original returns, which I want to keep same as it is the correct date, at that time I mean in Jan-13 when returns were filed for above quarter, at that time entries of previous quarteres were allowed.

now when I make correction, and finally arrive at column Date of deduction, they dont accept the entry of last quarter, what shall I do?

I tried not writing anything in correction column of Date of deduction, assuming that they will keep previous mentioned date as it is, but then TDS/TCs error file is generated with following error:

T-FV-4322 Valid Date on which tax Deducted / Collected must be provided. Date prior to relevant quarter is not allowed.

Please Help.

Hi Manoj,

There is now way the utility will allow a date pertaining to previous qtr.
At times, we oversee the date format and end up making an error.
The accepted format is DD MM YY
In your case, the date of deduction entered is 7-9-12 i.e. 7th Sept 2012 and hence it got accepted in Q 3.
Whereas, from your question, it seems that the correct date is 9th July.
You would have made an error while posting it in the utility.
Now, to correct this, you will have to delete this entry from Q3 and add it in Q 2.
