Tds claim - doubt

Dear frds/ experts,

3years back a client of one of our customer (Pvt Ltd co) failed to completely file their deducted TDs returns.... all the refund process of IT are over...but now they filed that unclaimed TDs refund amt in that f.y.17-18....Now how can we suggest them to claim that unclaimed TDs....pls advice me...

Has the client not filed the return for f.y. 17-18 at all or having filed the returns, he realised much later that he has not claimed some TDS ?
Actually, during F.y.17-18, itself that customer knows that client has been filed the TDs partially...For that, even they asked their client to make it file soon...but in their part, they have filed the returns partially in the wrong Pan no. So that our customer cudn't claim that amt. after several follow ups, they have finally filed that partial unclaimed TDs refund amt now...

It is a contentious issue , will have to be taken up with department in writing, only then could things move forward as desired

 

An application may be made to the Commissioner of Income Tax under section 264 of the Income Tax Act. Alternatively, though I am not too sure about the logistics since I have not done the on-line Return Data Correction (maybe other persons can help out here), you can check the Return Data Correction facility if it is still available for F.Y. 2017-18 or a request to re-process the return.
