what is the procedure?

Download Justification Report from TDSCPC website & go through the file. You will get to know whether you have any short deduction, short payment or any such errors while filing TDS return. Once you are through it, pay the tax demand (if notice is genuine) & file the correction statement (by downloading correction statement from the same site). Then follow the same procedure as you would while filing original return. After you receive the Acknowledgement number of the revised return, write a reply letter to the Dept. with a copy of acknowledgement attached.
