Taxability of Rent from property

142 views 4 replies
I am an individual. I am registered under GST. My main business is trading in electrical goods. I have a property, which I have given on rent. It is partly used for residential purpose and partly for commercial purpose by the tenant. I receive collective rent at Rs. 25,000 per month. There in no bifurcation of rent for residential and commercial purpose in the rent agreement.
What will the GST liability (if any) on rent received ?

Yes....

Unless rent agreements are separable, GST charged on full rent amount...

But sir, renting of property is not my business. It is the only property I have which I have given on rent.

When you are registered under GST, you are liable to tax for all the taxable supplies, and renting any property for non-residential usage is one of them!!!

Ok.
Thank you for your prompt reply sir.
