A person residing abroad (Dubai) remmits an amount of Rs. 5 lacs to India. Please clarify if the same will be taxable in India.
The person is a Resident of India and has been living in Dubai for 2 years.

Remittances are not taxable. But since he is a resident (assuming ROR) of India,his global income shall be taxable which would make Rs. 5 lac taxable by whichever source earned.
