I have paid my tax on the demand raised by IT dept., So I paid under head Tax on regular Assessment(400). Now what is the next step? do i need to file a Rectification Return?

You will have to file a RECTIFICATION REQUEST, by giving the full particulars of tax paid by you on demand raised.

In my opinion, there is no need to file Rectification Request.Just login to Income Tax site and under e file menu, go to Response to Outstanding Tax Demand raised.
