moneytransfer 4m abroad is nt taxable..u cn send any amount u want..it will not taxable in the hands of ur family...

No limit for transferring money to India to your family. Hope you have done the transfer through NRE a/c. It is advisable for you to send one offer letter with regard to gifting the amount to your brother and receive back his acceptance for the same and you both keep that as record of the transaction made.
remittances are not taxable from relative, if you receive more than 50000 from other than relative then all amount are taxable.
