can the husband claim more interest u/s 24 b than wife in order to have some tax benefit

Person can claim interest only that much amount that he has paid but not more than 2lakh under sec24

Husband and wife each paid interest of 120000 each
can husband claim 170000 and wife claim 70000 rather than claiming 120000 each

Interest paid is taken as deduction in the ratio of ownership of property,subject to maximum of actual amt paid or Rs 2 lakhs.
