Tax Audit/ Statuory Audit

What is the difference b/w Statuory Audit and Tax Audit. If in the case of company having above turnover/purchase of 40 lakh. both Audit report are submited or only Tax Audit submited. What is the role of Directors report in the case of Private Company.
