Tax audit applicability

Dear Colleagues,

Please tell me - in case of any company provisions of section 44AB are applcable regardless of turnover or turnover/ gross receipts should exceed threshold limit ? I am having few colleagues having opinion that section 44AB is appliable mainly on the turnover basis.

I wish to draw your kind attention to second proviso to the same section.
