Could you please tell me........

I had applied for for TAN on 22 nov 2011, and and now i have received the TAN Number.

now i would like to register it on NSDL , but when i go to nsdl to register TAN it asks for

Provisional Receipt no. under the head"PROVIDE DETAILS OF ACCEPTED REGULAR STATEMENT (ON OR AFTER APRIL 1, 2008)"

but i m confused what is provisional receipt no. it also asks for f.y , quarter, number of challan,amount etc.

i also tried with the acknoledgement number of TAN Application but when i submit it asks for above information.

even i have just recd. TAN and new then how could i provide provisional receipt number because i have not submitted any quarterly statement before this.because from this month i m dedudtor.

so please help me...........how could i get registered with tan at NSDL.

To Register you TAN with nsdl, first you have to file the first tds return. Get the acknowledgment receipt of tds return accepted. Then you put the details in the tds return acknowledgment no in the TAN Registration Form. TAN will now be registered with nsdl.

thank you so much sir, please tell me one more thing..

i m deductor and going to deduct TDS on salary , so at the time of deduction employee can claim for LTA exemption..if yes, then he has to produce any proof for that or not.whether LTA for the year we pay is 31200/-

dear sir

in case of salary tds, first calculate the estimated total income of the employee as on the date of deduction. (LTA exemption may be allowed) Find out the tax payable for this year . Then divide tax payable by the remaining number of month including the month you are going to deduct the tax. The amount arrived at may be deducted monthly from his salary

dear sir, could you please tell me , how many taxes we charge on the sale of packaged software in india

and with which rate applicable please tell me in detail, we are going to sell software in cd and pendrive so

when we will generate the invoice how many taxes we will charge on that and with which rate.?

I have registered in TAN account in June, But now I m unable to open the account.Nor the acknowledgment number is working nor the userid or password is working.Kindly help.

Application Procedure
(a) An applicant will fill Form 49B online and submit the form.
(b) If there are any errors, rectify them and re-submit the form.
(c) A confirmation screen with all the data filled by the applicant will be displayed.
(d) The applicant may either edit or confirm the same.

Acknowledgment
(a) On confirmation, an acknowledgment screen will be displayed. The acknowledgment consists of:
* A unique 14-digit acknowledgment number
* Status of applicant
* Name of applicant
* Contact details (address, e-mail and telephone number)
* Payment details
* Space for signature
(b) Applicant shall save and print this acknowledgment.
(c) Signature / Left thumb impression should only be within the box provided in the acknowledgment. In case of applicants other than 'Individuals', the authorised signatory shall sign the acknowledgment and affix the appropriate seal or stamp.
(d) Left hand Thumb impression, if used, should be attested by a Magistrate or a Notary Public or Gazetted Officer, under official seal and stamp.

Payment
(a) The fee for processing TAN application is 60.00 ( 55.00 application charge + 10.3% Service Tax).
(b) Payment can be made by
- demand draft or
- cheque or
- credit card / debit card or
- net banking
(c) Demand draft / cheque shall be in favor of 'NSDL - TIN'.
(d) Name of the applicant and the acknowledgment number should be mentioned on the reverse of the demand draft / cheque.
(e) Demand draft shall be payable at Mumbai.
(f) Applicants making payment by cheque shall deposit a local cheque
(g) Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking payment

Applicants making credit card / debit card payment will be charged an additional surcharge of 5.00 by the bank providing payment gateway facility.
Applicants making payment through Net Banking facility will be charged an additional surcharge of 4.00 + service tax for payment gateway facility.

On successful payment by credit card / debit card / net banking an acknowledgment will be displayed. Applicant shall save and print the acknowledgment and send to NSDL as mentioned in section 'Submission of Documents' below.

Submission of Documents

(a) The acknowledgment duly signed, along with demand draft, if any, shall be sent to NSDL at

(b) Superscribe the envelope with 'APPLICATION FOR TAN - Acknowledgment Number' (e.g. 'APPLICATION TAN - 88301020000244').

(d) Application will be processed only on receipt of duly signed acknowledgment and realisation of payment.

applicants may track the status of their TAN application using 14 digit unique Acknowledgment Number after three days of application using the status track facility. Alternatively, applicant may call TIN Call Centre on 020 – 2721 8080 to enquire about the status of application. The status of the TAN application can also be tracked by sending an SMS - NSDLTAN <your 14 digit acknowledgement number> to 57575.
