TAN Application
Hi everyone, I have a query, I have a PAN applied from Rajasthan (AO) but now I have business in Tamil Nadu. Now I must have to apply for TAN so my query is whether should I have to apply - from Jodhpur, Rajasthan AO or from Tripur, Tamil Nadu AO ?

If you see, unlike PAN, the TAN are state specific. First Three digit of any TAN depicts the state for which it belongs. For TAN, you need to mention the address of office for which you want to apply. In that case, you will have to mention the address of TN and the address proof also need to be attached for same premises. The application will be accepted only for the state in which you have place of business i.e. TN.
