Dear Reena,
The above suggestion will work only if you are using Tally 9.0 or above. If you are using any lower version the feature is not present in Tally.

Dear Reena,
First mention which version Tally you are using. If you are using Tally with version lower than 9, then you need to first use "Merge and Centre" Icon in Excel tool bar.
By using condition formulae eg "if" you can juggle the data and can get data in excel format in presentable manner.

Mr. Jignesh
Export the Balance Sheet Or P & L in HTML format.
Now open Microsoft Excel ---> Go to File Menu ---> Open and select the path where you have stored the said .html file.
You may require some formatting in the said file.

Hi all
you can export file to excel in all version, while using 9.0 one can directly export to excel whereas in old version following step has to following. (eg 7.2 )
1. click export option
2. select format ASCII
3. give ur own file name with extension .xls and save.
4. open blank excel file and locate you file in tally folder (usally in c:\tally7.2)
5. select delimited option from pop up screen > click next
6.click tab and comma box appear on the top and below you will find the preview of that report.
click finish and format as per your requirement.
