Tally is attempting to simplify the lives of harried managers by launching Tally Server - the server enabled version of Tally 6.3,Tally 7.2, Tally 8.1 & 9.0 that makes Synchronization / Replication of data between the head office and various branches extremely simple, reliable and instantaneous. In short, Tally will make data synchronization a "single-click" activity with Tally Server.
Flow of information and data and seamless integration of the same, from remote locations / branches / factories, to the Corporate Office.
This essentially involves deploying or enabling of Tally Server at the Corporate Office and Tally Client at branches / remote locations. The system allows transmission and updating of data to a branch account maintained for the purpose or integrated into the main accounts, at the Corporate Office. In effect, data is replicated from the branch / remote location. The system works through the Internet. The above features are in addition to the standard features of Tally which allows for multi-company / branch / currency and multiple year accounting coupled with advanced inventory controls, multi-level budgeting, reporting and cost controls. On an operational level, with the above features, Tally will enable companies to monitor sales, stock movements, costs and profitability at multiple locations.
The simplest use of Tally Server and Tally Client is therefore the transmission and updating of information and data from branches / remote locations. As is the case with all Tally products, the installation and set-up is very simple and easy and does not require complicated procedures or assistance.
Tally Server and Tally Client can also be used to streamline and standardize information flows across multiple programs running in some functional overlap with Tally (ODBC compliant databases) and in the creation of complex environments. This will require the assistance of programmers adept in TDL and scriptting languages. Tally Server and Tally Client is completely modular, which means that existing users of Tally 6.3, Tally 7.2 & Tally 8.1 ( Single or Multi User) can purchase Tally Server and Tally Client at a reasonable cost.

Thanks for your reply.
Kindly inform me about the requirements for synchronizing the data between Head office and a Branch.
Whether data will get updated..

Altered vouchers will be updated but altered ledgers can not...
Tally will create new ledgers by assuming newly created ledgers if you alter any ledger, without deleting old ledger...

Business which operate from multiple locations need to exchange data frequently between locations and it is time bound and critical to run their business. Data Synchronization is the ability for data in different locations to be kept up-to-date so that each repository contains the same information. It ensures uniformity, up-todate reporting and quick decision making. This step by step guide is designed to help you implement and troubleshoot Data Synchronization in Tally. This guide also addresses the requirement of connecting occasionally to the internet and update data at various locations in a simple and cost effective manner.
