It's definately possible to learn Tally without any coaching. All you need is to get familiar with the basics or you can take the help of these materials.

Explore Caclubindia and Google for more files and vidoes. After getting familiar with the basics, try exploring yourself what are the options available in features and configurations. With some time and practical exposure you will gain speed and efficiency and will be confident enough to do work on your own.
