How does Tally help in Auditing.

Can anyone throw some light on this. With the help of Tally software, how can we know where there is evasion of Central Excise duty.

Excise Dept. do not use tally package and its officials may not have used this. ONly company staff use tally and those who deal excise also in their daily core, may be knowing about the excise evasion aspect. Central excise dept . has not recognised any software for that matter which can be relied on for accounting of production, sales , export , etc.,

hi rekha, u can see in tally about excise by his way. first see the duty paid by the company on purchases(it will appears in purchase side in direct expenses)-match wih the invoices and registers. then see the duty collected on sales on (see it in sales side )-match with the sales invoices,and registers of excise-i.e RGII ok the balance will appear in balnce sheet./and if monthwise u see u can check about short/excess by wayof payment(PLA challans) or appearing in balnce sheet with respective returns. any further query u can mail me on ashishsunil @ lycos.com
