Surname in PAN
A person's name as per PAN card is Pawan Kumari. I have checked it through PAN card copy as well. But when I enter his surname as 'Kumari' on income tax efiling site, it says invalid surname. Can anyone tell me possible reasons for this?

may be he has made correction in his/her pan card and u r holding old pan card.
check the fifth character in pan. if it is p enter pawan or paw*nkumari if it is k enter kumari alone
Thanks everyone for ideas. Sudeep sir's suggestion was found correct and his name was found to had changed to Pawan Kumari Kansal.
