Surcharge on tds !

Is there a surcharge on TDS in case payments exceed Rs. 10 lakh?

Or is this provision no longer there?

Can you please provide the relevant section under which this surcharge was or is provided?

1. Surcharge:

No Surcharge on TDS in case of payment is made to Resident or Domestic Company
No Surcharge on TDS in case of payment is made to Non Resident other than Foreign Company
2.5% Surcharge on TDS if the recipient is a foreign company and amount exceeds Rs. 1 Crore.

no there is no provision as such....

i .e no surcharge applicable on TDS...

For resident payee or deductee no surcharge or education cess shall be added except in case of salary where education cess shall be added on tds on salary.

For non resident payee or deductee:

Foriegn company - surcharge of 2% (where payment exceed Rs.1 crore).

education cess of 3%.

Any other assessee - No surcharge.

Education cess of 3%.
