Only the guardians will get tax benefit under sec 80C for the amount deposit in Sukanya account. Guardians under this scheme means-  i) either father or mother ii)where  neither parent is alive, person entitled under the law for time being in force to have the care of the property of the girl child. iii) Parents of adopted child
