No need of any compilers if you are studying from Bangar's. Better to revise it as much as possible and clear your concepts rather than refering different books. Do solve all the practical questions given in Bangar's. Apart from this Study the recent case laws very well as a good percentage of questions are asked straight from the recent case laws. You will find these case laws (2012) are highlighted in a box in bangar's book. Also ICAI will soon publish relevant case laws for May13 exams. All this and above all 'favourable luck' should be sufficient to score 60+ in IDT. Good Luck.
I concur with Ashish. One of the major impediments in Bangar's book is, it does not provide Summary of each chapter. Therefore, it is highly recommended to prepare your own notes , which shall aid you during the time of revisi

Do not refer so many books.  Choose among Bangar or Paduka, whichever you find good to you.  More important, refer latest amendments, case laws, RTP issued by institute.  These are must to get good marks.  Keep your books/study material summarised to the extent possible, this will help you in proper revision during examination.  Good luck.

I agree with ashish but if u have time then refer previous papers and rtp

banger sir has publishe dsumery also this time

hw  about v.s.datey book for idt ?

one of my friend suggested . i havent strtd my preparations yet , else wud ve gven my personal experience on that book .

Thanx for your valuable suggestions friends... But i was asking about bangar's compiler only not anyother compiler.... So plz let me know whether it is imp or not as this time the book it self says that it is comprehensive...

Bangar's book for self study is the best. you should also refer to the institute's Practice Mannual.

Many time same question appears in exams, especially practical questions.

see mohd rafi book brilliant book i dont know why no one is advising his book

it is excellent to clear concepts of excise customs .....but it is not gud for service tax bczo he has explnd ser tax in more detailed incl practical also ...

so i recommd u m rafi plus practice manual(excise cus and ser ) and RTP sure 60+

regards

Sneha in how much time you completed bangur and was it sufficient?
