I M PREPARING FOR CPT ON MY OWN PLS TELL ME STRATEGY TO PASS BY SELF STUDY ONLY 2 MONTHS ARE LEFT FOR EXAM.

Two months time is more than enough to gain knowledge and clear CPT. I prepared in 2months and 12 days Accounts, mercantile Law, Economics and 1st chapter of Mathmatics...
To clear CPT you should be clear in concepts. Absolute fine tuned knowledge is essential to clear confidently. I started with Accounts and mercantile law as this is the first session of exam.. Read your study material conceptually for both and practise questions from model test papers(both volumes). when you are done with all this, to boost your confidence level attempt scanner. Dont touch scanner in starting itself. when you attempt your first session of CPT exam , mark only those answers in which you are 100%confident, dnt mark even if you have 1% doubt. Remember your aim in first session should be to get max. marks with negligble -ve marking.....
For your second session you should try to take your confident score in first session to a level where your final score seems good... Study in that mode. Tune yourself in concepts mode of understanding. This you will realise when you reach IPCC and then Final.... Even for maths & Eco , i would suggest study materials . Study materials are more than enough but study it with full understanding.. Attempt both volumes of model test papers... At end Success will be yours. Any doubt feel free to ask me or anyone... Keep on clearing your doubts.

WELL MY EXPERIENCE SAYS THAT...READ AND JUST UNDERSTAND WHATEVER YOU ARE STUDYING..B'COZ YOU DONT NEED WRITE YOU FULL FLEDGE ANSWER IN THE EXAM...B'COZ IT IS MCQ...AND BELiEVE IN YOUR PRESENCE OF MIND.....B'COZ YOU JUST NEED TO GET CLICKED IN THE EXAM WHEN THE QUESTION IS IN FRONT OF YOU.....KEPT YOU COOL...THTS IT...(AND PLZ DONT GO FOR SELECTIVE STUDY)...

HELLO DEEPA! I ALSO CLEARED CPT THROUGH SELF STUDY ONLY.......BUT THERE IS NO SURE SHOT STRATEGY 4 CLEARING IT,U JUST HAVE 2 KEEP THE CONCEPT CLEAR IN UR MIND & NEED 2 HAVE ALL THE INFO. RELATED 2 THE TOPIC THAT U CAN GET 4M VARIOUS REFERENCE BUKS.....................DONT WORRY 4 THE EXAM,ITS NOT THAT MUCH DIFFICULT..............................K? ALL THE VERY BEST!!!

Strategy is as simple as that.............
Quantitive aptitude : be dependent on statistical part and easier portion of general maths.
Economics: byheart all the macro figures and clarity on micro concept
Mercantile Law: All Acts are are used in comman parlance
Accountancy: solve all sums of aDDITIONAL MODULE BY ICAI.

Deepa first there is no need of coaching for Cpt, you have 2 months of time in your hand you can read whole 4 books in 25 days of time. After reading of full course go for questions given at the end of each chapter and read all the question given in ICAI study mat. if you able to read all question 2 or 3 times, once you sitting in exam you find 1/3 rd of question paper cover these question which is at the end of each chapter.
I tell you this because i have not study upto 4 months of after reg. at last month i follow the same stratergy and score 168 marks in myfirst appearnce in CPT.
make a practice to read at least 2 chapters qusestion every day and you will gain confidence that sour.

Hi Deepa!!
First of all, u need to understand that u can easily clear ur CPT if u hav ur concepts clear in subjects like Accounts and Economics, which u hav studied earlier in ur 12th standard..
You just need to strike a balance while reading d subjects, i.e. u can take up 1 practical subjct and 1 theory subject at a time..
If u keep on concentrating on theoretical subjects only, u may get confused.. To avoid it, jst maintain a balance between subjcts..
U need not refer to any book othr than d modules given by ICAI.. Have ample of time to solve the model test papers given by d institute..
Just try to read with 100% concentration.. Note down all d points u come across and feel that to b important..
Just be focussed.. You can easily clear it..

no need to worry. study material by ICAI is enough. Try to solve as much questions as possible from the chapter ends and two additional books provided. No need for reference books.
I did self study for 2.5 months for abt 1.5-2 hours a day and got 150 marks.
DON"T PUT PRESSURE ON YOURSELF. CPT IS VERY EASY, esp. if u r from commerce background.

Try to solve as many practical problems as u can.
Try mock test also to test your preparation lavel.
