Steps To be Taken after CIT (A) Order

Others 848 views 4 replies

Dear Friends,

For AY 2020-21, I had received an incorrect demand from CPC. Despite multiple rectification requests, it was not corrected.

Eventually, I filed for CIT (A) for correction.

While, my appeal was under consideration, CPC deducted / adjusted the demand amt. for AY 2020-21 from by refund due for AY 2022-23.

I have now received CIT (A) order u/s 250 which validates my stand for AY 2020-21.

I am not sure what needs to be done with this order. Should I file a request with CPC or go to my AO.

Please help

The AO may be able to help you navigate the process and ensure that the demand is corrected in accordance with the CIT (A) order.

You have to contact your Assessing officer for providing the appeal effect.

The cit appeals would ideally himself forward a copy of his order to the commissioner at cpc.
and the cpc would give effect to the appellate order.

i think the assessee does not have to play any active role in bringing the effect of the order unless they have failed to do their duty in reasonable time.

Thanks for your reply. I have also raised a grievance with CPC to guide on next steps. I will keep the group posted on what I hear to ensure there is a thread for future reference.
