Hello my dear fellow students and seniors,

I have seen on CNBC a show on 'THE FIRM' about THE STATE OF ICAI.

Well at melodramatic one indeed, the guests including, his highness Shri. U.P. Agarwal,

Past president Mr. Talati sir, Mr. Rathi and one other ICAI committee member.

The issue raised were as follows:

1. IS ICAI heading towards a downfall?

2. SHould it be governed by IAS cadre officals like the RBI, SEBI, BSE etc?

3. IS the election and its expenses rising to as much as Rs. 1 crore fair and justified?

4. News of booth capturing in the ICAI elections a slap on the face of the ICAI.

5. Over importance of the President Mr. U.P. Agarwal in the ICAI good for the future?

6. Is ignorance of The Satyam fiasco and ignoroing it in the annual report of the ICAI justified?

7. Is the spending of the scarce funds of ICAI on the meetings and occasion celebrations just for the lavish enjoyment good?

The replies were horrifying,

Mr. U.P. Agarwal, who just left the discussion just minutes.before the start of the show and the other replies by Mr. Talati and Mr.Rathi if u get time please go through the same and comment about the same if u feel.

Decent and ethical comments are welcome.
