Before taking decision on taking of registration or not, you have to consider the following as pects,
Your clinet base - whether they are registered or not.
Your input credit eligibility - how much credit you can avail if you get registered
Your supplier base - Whether they are registered or not ........ and so on...

1.it depends your future client base are consumers or companies . Indivuals (with out GST) may pay cash/cheque for your software services with out a GST tax invoice (bill of sale/service may suffice to record the transaction).
2.If your future clientale are companies with GST & they want to record the expenses easier they prefer suppliers /consultants with GST regn.
3.so no GST may be a hinderance if your new start up depends on corporate clients( B2B)... if you are selling to retail consumers to start with (B2C) .. the your start up can manage with out GST... but opening a business name current a/c with out GST may be difficult unless you get shop liecence from local municiplaity / regd patnership deed/ or a Pvt Ltd /OPC Pvt ltd company incorporation...
