standard deduction for Income from salary
Can you please tell me the section and other prescripttions about the standard deduction of INR 40,000 allowed for Income from Salaries for AY 2018-19

a deduction of rs 40,000 or amount of salary, which ever is less is allowed as deduction
from previous year 2018-19 ( 1st April, 18 to 31st March, 19) i.e., assessment year 2019-20. section 16(ia)
