Dear Vijay,

As mentioned in Section 80C, there is no restriction on the number of houses against which the assessee is paying the stamp duty. The asssessee is eligible for the payment of stamp duty for the cause of transfer of house property to such assessee. Therefore, the amount paid as stamp duty is very much allowed for deduction under Section 80C.

YES DEFINATELY CLAIM STAMP DUTY & REGISTRATION FEE FOR HOUSE TO LOCAL AUTHORITY U/S 80C

Dear Sirs,

I have registered a property in the year 2013. The construction is going on and the handover is in June 2015.

As the possesion of the house is this year, can I claim the Registration fees and stamp duty paid earlier in this year's return?

thanks,
