Some basic audit points

I've just started my Articleship. It's only been a month.Sometimes, I miss out on a few points, and feel disappointed. I would like to have a list of some important points which need to be verified in any audit. For eg: Verifying TDS with Form 26 AS. 
Please help me with the same. Any help appreciated :). Thanks in advance!
