10 July 2011A Management and Training Institute registered under Society Act ,providing training for agriculturist and other management related persons sponsered by Govt as well as other organisation , whether it has to file IT returns. They collect fees for running the institute and meeting the expenses for conducting the classess. Some Institutes deducted the TDS on their payment .-Whether this society has to file IT return? Is TDS applicable to this Society? -Kindly clarify.

Yes , in my opinion you need to file a return as you are providing specific services to the members and your taxability will be calculated as per the provisions of section 44DA. However if you also provide gerneral services to your members then such income is exempt and is not licable to tax .
