Dear Friends,
Can anyone confirm if there is a size fixed for printing of share certificates? If so, what is it?

There is no specific size fixed for share certificate ;The act does not provide for any specific form of share certificate ,Rule 5 of Companies (issue of share certificate )provides that share certificate must specify the name of the person in whoes favour the certificate is issued ,the shares to which it relates and amount paid up on them;similarly rule 6 mentiones it must be issued under common seal of the company and shall be signed by the two Directors and CS or some other authorised person ;
However in case of listed Companies the size form and contents of share Certificate have to be approved by the concerned stock exchange before its issue to the public and stock exchange have prescribed a form of certificate which is required to be adopted by listed company
Please correct me if I am wrong ;I have referd CS Company Law and practice inter module to solve the query .

Dear Ajay,
Please go through Companies (Issue of Share Certificates) Rules, 1960. As such there is no specific format of the share certificates but according to this rule the certificates must be printed and blank form must have the machine printed number.The share certificate must contain certain details of the shareholder.
