Should there be a new bill book for the new FY?

Can I use the old bill book and continue the present S.no. for sales invoices or should I start from the new Serial no. 1 from 2/4/2019?

As per my opinion , you should start New Bill book with new Sr.no 1 form 1/4/2019 . read rule 46 (b) of the CGST rules 2017. you can take others opinion also.

No more restrictions...

You can Continue the serial with Old Invoice book. No more issues...

But, Advisable is start with new series...

Yes agree with Mr. Raja ji
For the fy the series & number should be unique.

Eg ;: A10011 is first bill no for the fy , then for the whole year you cannot issue the same bill no.

Yes, u can if your bill series as below format..001,002,003 or 1,2,3. But if your bill no or invoice number is 001/18-19 or 1/18-19 is in this format, you can't.

The important thing is to have UNIQUE serial numbering of the Invoices. There are no restrictions. But a new series helps and a better choice for accounting purposes as it brings clarity in maintaining accounting records properly.
