The level of difficulty will be the same in both the courses. However, its is advisable to write under the new course because even if you study for the old course, in practicality the new course is only applicable. i.e, the new course is only going to be adopted while practicing. Hence, in the new course you'll get both knowledge and exam marks whereas the old course is only helpful for exams and after exams you'll have to study the new course again for knowledge updation even if you don't need to write the exam.
Good luck! :)
