Should i be afraid of CPT

I will be appearing for CPT this december...I come from science background, my preparation are going well...but I have heard that ICAI are asking for new question for CPT...this is one thing which is worring me. From where will i get additional questions for cpt? Questions in model test paper are copy-paste from the exercise behind every lesson, should i solve those papers...where else can I get additional-NEW questions?? Please guide me on this, also please share a link where il get these questions or any book as such.

i will suggest you to solve practice papers given by icai. also try to solve the test papers available in cd received with study material

I agree with aditya. solve the questionos given in module and in the CD. and one more thing dont worry so much. try to get the grasp of the real concepts.

You dnt hv to worry. just complete all the model test paper provided, if not all try to do at least 20. I did 20 and all question felt familier in CPT Exam. So dnt be afraid.

Go for Tulsian or Hanif books of CPT, if you intend to solve more questions. But first complete institute material fully including the CD which you receives.

CPT is the threshold for entering studies for professional exams

Get your basics right, right at the begining and you should be able to answer exams questions, whether coming from question bank provided in the study material or any other source

I would suggest to concentrate more on the subject rather on the questions/practice papers. Once you know the subject you can practice any number of questions.

Further coming from science background will not at all be a problem once you understand the basics. Otherwise I would rather say you should also think once whether to be afraid of IPCC/Final or not.

So just relax, keep aside all fear, treat yourself equal with other commerce studernts, try your best, finally good luck.

Hi,

No need to feel afraid.

As per my suggestion you should lay stress n the study matter that has been provided to you by the ICAI and then you should contact people who have already passed CPT, you should take some guidance from them. I think this will help you in a better way.

You can also get a book of sample papers sold by icai itself.....along with practicing CPT Model test papers for good result in the exam. Practice those test papers with examination conditions.

Never waste your time and have a discussion with your friends regarding a specific topic for a better grip.

Here are some tips for u, which was helpful to u for the preparation of CPT Exam.

1) IF ur not from Maths background, then plz keep it in ur mind that u have to get passing marks out of 150.

2) Before Starting revision any chapter of accounts, first study whole theory of that chapter and then only solve 1 or two questions from examples. But solve Maximum questions from EXERCISE.

3) Prepare Mercantile Law Very well, because it was the only scoring subject after accounts. Contract Act is important one.

4)In economics 1st complete Macro economics then go for micro economics. Macro Economics aslo very scoring.

5) IN Quantitative Aptitude, Differentiation and integration, Correlation and regression and theoritical distribution is important one.

6) And make the Strategy to solve M. LAW paper 1st in examination, because u will get more time to solve accounts.

7) PLZ WORK hard in studies, because there is no Short cuts for Success. But u can do ur work Systematically, Which will help u 2 go to the path of Success.

read institute's module .if you feel need of conceptual clarity then refer class12th CBSE board accountancy book by TS grewal . dont be afraid of CPT , it need regular studies .

but dont get over confident , because i had seen many students from science side consider commerce stream to be very easy .
